First cross-border meeting of project partners and institutions
On Monday, June 12, 2017, the Centre for Health and Development Murska Sobota prepared the first bilateral meeting of partners and participating organizations of the cross-border project Regiohelp, which was held at the Research and Education Center Rakičan Dvorec.
The meeting, which was attended by the project partners and leaders and representatives of the institutions in the field of health, social and regional development from Austria and Slovenia, was primarily aimed at better understanding of partners, institutions and regional stakeholders, exchanging knowledge, experience across borders and examples of good practices and try to develop common opportunities for cooperation even after the final Regiohelp project. The Slovenian institutions were represented by representatives of the Murska Sobota People's University, the Murska Sobota Centre for Social Work, the Radenci Retirement home, the National Institute of Public Health - the Murska Sobota Regional Unit and the City Municipality of Murska Sobota.
Participants at the cross-border bilateral meeting witnessed the presentation of the social and health system in Austria and Slovenia, and the work in groups from individual fields focused on the aforementioned exchange of knowledge, opinions and experiences and the search for common points where they could find suitable solutions for social and health problems in both regions. At the meeting, the members of the project group and the social and health stakeholders of the Pomurje and Voitsberg regions also signed the Agreement on future cooperation in the Regiohelp project, thus solemnly decided to establish closer cooperation in the future, within their capacities, to support each other and to develop together new models of regional social and health management to increase access to the right services in the right institutions.
