On Tuesday, November 7th, 2017, we opened a new Green park, this time in Martjanci. It's located next to the Sports and Recreation Center (ŠRC) Martjanci. The ceremonial tape was cut by Alojz Glavač, Mayor of Moravske Toplice Municipality and Nina Seljak, Head of the Managing Authority.
After the introduction and presentation of the the park, pupils from the Prosenjakovci Bilingual Primary School and children from Martjanci Kindergarten sang a few songs and prepared a short declamation.
Green Park Martjanci was built within the Green Exercise project, co-financed by the Interreg V-A Cooperation Programme Slovenia-Hungary 2014-2020 and is intended for exercise and socializing of all generations in the cross-border area. The Martjanci Green Park is the second of the four planned Green parks on the Slovenian side. The first one was in Prosenjakovci and the two planned are in Markovci and Grad. The playgrounds and sports facilities are also adapted for the physically disabled, the blind, the elderly, small children and professional athletes.
In addition to the opening, the contracts on co-financing of seven projects from the funds of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) within the third deadline of the public tender for the Interreg V-A Slovenia-Hungary Cooperation Programme for the 2014-2020 programming period were also signed.
Seven projects with a total value of 3 million euros have been approved for co-financing, which will have long-term effects in the fields of tourism, public services, natural and cultural heritage and sustainable development.
